چکیده

Temperature can be used as clinical marker for tissue metabolism and the detection of inflammations or tumors. The use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) monitoring physiological parameters like temperature noninvasively is steadily increasing. In this study, we present a proof-of-principle study MRI contrast agents (CA) absolute concentration independent imaging. These CAs are based on azoimidazole substituted NiII porphyrins, which undergo Light-Driven Coordination-Induced Spin State Switching (LD-CISSS) in solution. Monitoring fast first order kinetic back isomerisation (cis to trans) with standard MR sequences allows determination half-lives, that directly translated into temperatures. Different responsive were successfully tested prototypes methanol-based gels created maps gradient phantoms high spatial resolution (0.13×0.13×1.1 mm) low errors (<0.22 °C). method sufficiently record flow from heat source film.

Synthesis and Application of New Gadolinium-Porphyrins as Potential MR Imaging Contrast Agents for Cancer Detection in Nude Mice

Two new potential magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents, Gd-hematoporphyrin (Gd-H) and Gd-tetra-carboranylmethoxyphenyl-porphyrin (Gd TCP), were synthesized and applied to nude mice with human melanoma (MM 138) xenografts. These agents showed a high relaxivity because of their greater potential to coordinate water molecules. The reduction of T1 relaxation times of 16 and 21% was observed i...

Multimeric Gd-based Contrast Agents for high field MR-imaging

Introduction. MR imaging is increasingly moving to higher fields as the majority of MRI scanners used in clinics work at 3 T. Imaging at high fields brings greater signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and its concomitant benefits of higher spatial resolution and/or reduced acquisition times. Currently employed Gd-based contrast agents are small, fast tumbling molecules with low relaxivity that decreases...

Novel MR imaging contrast agents for cancer detection

BACKGROUND Novel potential MR imaging contrast agents Gd-tetra-carboranylmethoxyphenyl-porphyrin (Gd-TCP), Gd-hematoporphyrin (Gd-H), Gd-DTPA-9.2.27 against melanoma, Gd-DTPA-WM53 against leukemia and Gd-DTPA-C595 against breast cancer cells were synthesized and applied to mice with different human cancer cells (melanoma MM-138, leukemia HL-60, breast MCF-7). The relaxivity, the biodistribution...

MR Contrast Agents

Despite the excellent soft tissue contrast pro› vided by plain MRI, the use of intravascular contrast agents is often performed in a variety of clinical settings being an instrumental component of many MR studies. Several compounds have been developed for contrast-enhanced MR imaging of the abdomen, with the purpose of increasing tumor detection and differentiation between normal and pathologic...
